I think Milwaukee is trying to take over and be the leader when it comes to wet/dry vacuums. Content around shop vacuums is nothing new for my channels. It’s actually how I started sharing content online and have kept up with it ever since. With that being said, this is definitely the most user-friendly and versatile vac I’ve used. Let’s dive in and take a look at all the features this new line of Milwaukee vacs has to offer.

I have the 6 gallon vacuum with the single battery power head. But, as you can see by this graphic, all of these are interchangeable. There’s 2 different styles of wheel bases. 3 different tank sizes; 6, 9, and 12 gallon. As well as 3 different power heads; 1 battery, 2 battery, or an AC corded option.

For me personally, the 6 gallon tank is plenty for a lot of my work and for hooking the vacuum up to tools while using. But, for larger remodel jobs I was able to order just the 12 gallon tank to swap over to, for a lot cheaper than buying a whole second vacuum. Options are always nice and all the bases are covered here.

Of course one of the biggest features here is being cordless on the M18 battery platform. It’s always annoying/frustrating having a corded vac hooked up and trying to use a saw and tripping breakers at a clients house. I also do a lot of work on new construction. A lot of times there’s only one temporary outlet set up, or none at all. I’m almost to the point of having a completely cordless jobsite and don’t miss having extension cords everywhere and trying to roll over them with the vacuum one bit.

When it comes to runtime, Milwaukee states 47 minutes in max run-time mode(low), and 31 minutes in max power mode(high) with a 12.0ah battery.

To get the good runtime I’d definitely recommend sticking with the High Output 12.0ah, 8.0ah, or 6.0ah batteries at a minimum. 47 minutes is a long time to be vacuuming. Can certainly clean a whole car or vacuum up a whole floor of a house with that runtime.

Even being cordless, the vac has really great suction power. I have a corded 3.5hp vac to compare it to. This is my simple, non-scientific test, but the Milwaukee had the power to suck tight to the floor, whereas my corded vac was noticeably weaker. The Milwaukee won the test of easily being able to suck up a handful of drywall screws as well.

Stout carrying handle built-in to the power head.

Really secure hose management to keep it held tight to the vac.

Simple quarter-turn design to insert and lock the hose.

Speaking of the 9’ hose, it is both crush and twist resistant. Way more durable and by far the best hose I’ve seen come standard on a vacuum. I can completely flatten the hoses on all my other vacuums just between 2 fingers. But, standing on this hose with my whole body weight(about 200lbs.) it barely even flexes.

The tank is easily removed from the wheel base with this foot lever. Again, more versatility if you’re doing something where the wheel base isn’t needed, or just to make it easier to empty the tank.

Reinforced castors with a soft tread design.

Another quarter-turn design feature to make replacing the vacuums filter much easier than other styles.

My filter and tank are still looking brand new because, for the most part, I usually like to use bags in my vacs. The bags and how they firmly attach to the tank is such a great design and eliminates any mess when replacing.

Lots of great accessory storage on the vac. The 2 smaller tips nest nicely right on top of the motor head. There’s room for the wands and a couple more accessories down on the base. It’s nice how they designed them to accept any size fitting.

On top of the motor head there are 4 latching points to secure a Vacuum Tool Storage Bag (model # 49-90-2019) that can be purchased separately.

The extra accessory storage is great, because at the same time Milwaukee released these new vacuums, they also released a whole line of dozens of new Air-Tip trade focused accessories. The 3-in-1 Crevice and Brush Tool, Dust Collector, and M12 Powered Utility Nozzle are a few of the attachments I’ve picked up.

In Summary

I really try not to sound like a salesman doing these reviews, because I’m not. However, it was hard with this one because honestly the features on this vac are so well thought-out, more durable, or just nonexistent on other wet/dry vacs. Between the 3 new vacuums (or interchanging parts between them) and all of the new Air-Tip accessories, Milwaukee is really wanting to take control of the category.

To see some of these features in actual use, be sure to find me on YouTube and all the other social platforms!
